Regenerative Leadership Institute Launches The Suburban Homestead Online Design Course for Gardeners

Our course provides the perfect opportunity to really understand what [permaculture] is about.”

— Sarah Michelson

BEAVERTON , OR, U.S., January 26, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Regenerative Leadership Institute is pleased to announce the launch of its new online course “The Suburban Homestead Design Course.” Created for gardeners and health enthusiasts alike, the course teaches participants how to transform their homes and gardens in order to live sustainably and healthily while keeping in tune with nature through permaculture design – the science of sustainable gardening and ecological landscape design.

Regenerative Leadership Institute spokesperson Sarah Michelson says that the course is generating a lot of interest from urban and suburban gardeners across the globe.

“Lots of people have heard about permaculture, but most aren’t really sure what it entails,” says Michelson. “Our course provides the perfect opportunity to really understand what it’s about, and more importantly, learn how to put the theories into practice.”

According to Michelson, permaculture offers a huge number of benefits to those who follow its principles. “You’ll be able grow wonderfully healthy, organic produce while saving water, saving money, and producing far less waste,” she explains. “You’ll be able to absolutely transform your property into a remarkably energy-efficient system!”

The Regenerative Leadership Institute course is a compressed 12-hour video version of the standard 72-hour Permaculture Design Course. It’s divided up into three parts. Part One covers the principles and design strategies of permaculture, Part Two reveals how to put that knowledge into practice, and Part Three consolidates learning with a final exam. After successfully completing the course, participants receive a certificate of achievement.

About The Regenerative Leadership Institute:

Founded in 2004, the Institute is on a mission to reconnect people with nature. With over 250,000 students in more than 190 countries around the world, a wide range of award-winning sustainable living workshops, courses, and books are available on the website, along with a thriving online discussion forum.

Smart Cannabis Corp. Gets Green Light to Publish its SMARTAPP Agriculture Automation App in Apple App Store

SMART Cannabis

SMART CANNABIS CORP (OTCMKTS:SCNA)

SACRAMENTO, CA, USA, January 11, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Smart Cannabis Corp., (OTC PINK: SCNA), announced today that its SMARTAPP for Apple iPhone and iPad is now available for download on their app store. The Next Generation Farming SMARTAPP was developed exclusively by Smart Cannabis Corp. to provide complete remote management for their Smart by Design line of automated greenhouses as well as to offer a stable software platform for other companies to license and build upon.

The SMARTAPP, known as NextGen Farm in the Apple App Store, is immediately available for download, free of charge, and includes demonstration mode – available by logging into the user and password as “demo”. Prospective clients can get a sense of controlling a live automated greenhouse environment similar to the interface and control system used by active clients who control their greenhouse system functions remotely. Enabling their clients to grow more efficiently with this app will result in a greater return on investment, making Next Generation Farming an essential all-around agritech solution for farmers.

The company will sell the SMARTAPP to existing and new client installations on a subscription basis and already has sales commitments for approximately fifteen SMARTAPP automation systems which it plans to install over the next 45 days.

Recently, the company entered a multifaceted joint venture with Singlepoint Inc. (OTC:SING) According to Smart Cannabis Vice President Don Smith, “In addition to the advanced automation control of greenhouse ecosystems, one of the goals with Singlepoint is to program in data collection and basic bitcoin blockchain transaction technology to allow cultivators to extend their control capabilities to include transactions within our SMARTAPP.”

Smith added, “We are also pursuing conversations with a number of agriculture companies to white label/OEM the SMARTAPP for commercial and consumer gardening applications that would benefit from mobile yet robust automation and control systems. Whether you have a backyard greenhouse, or a commercial food cultivation business, we believe our SMARTAPP can fill a product niche somewhere in that control spectrum”. According to Agrilyst, the marketplace for agriculture remote control systems is expected to generate over $21 billion annually in the U.S., as data is critical in helping cultivators reduce costs and refine their systems to increase productivity based upon the collection of historical data, and real time monitoring and control.

Leading floral designers gather in Wrightsville Beach Jan 11-14, 2018 for Art & The Bloom

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC, USA, January 2, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Leading floral designers in North Carolina will gather in Wrightsville Beach to showcase their floral creations inspired by fine art, Jan. 11-14, 2018.

The four-day Art & The Bloom exhibition and competition includes expert courses in floral design, botanical illustration and art, building terrariums, millinery fashion shows, raffles, and a presentation-book signing for Gardening in the South: The Complete Homeowner’s Guide, by Mark Weathington, Director of JC Raulston Arboretum at North Carolina State University.

“Our first year was a huge success,” said co-chair Barb Bittler, member of the New Hanover Garden Club. “The artwork was from a collection at Cameron Art Museum. This year’s artwork will come from private collections and the Wilmington Art Association. Floral designers receive their art assignment from a blind draw weeks before the event.

“The judges this year are Frances Thrash from Virginia and Pam Braun from Tennessee. Both are nationally accredited judges and Flower Show School Instructors through the National Garden Club.

“Friday morning, judge Frances Thrash is going to create four different floral designs. Friday afternoon, judge Pam Braun will be talking about botanical arts, which is a new division in flower shows for the National Garden Club.

“Preston Montague, a botanical illustrator from Durham, will present a workshop on how to make your greeting cards from what you might find in your garden. Montague is the creator of the Codex Carolinum alphabet series, using native or naturalized plants of North Carolina to encourage natural science literacy.

“Kim Fisher, a local floral designer originally from Washington, D.C., will be leading a workshop in how to create a terrarium out of succulents. Kim’s experience includes floral design for several presidents and the Catherine Zeta-Jones wedding.

“Floral design winners receive a beautiful ribbon, a cash award, and bragging rights. Last year’s best of show winner, Brittany Wells of Verzaal’s Florist in Wilmington is returning to defend her title.

“Mark Weathington from Raleigh’s Raulston Arboretum will present his new book and host a book signing on Sunday afternoon,” said Bittler.

New Hanover Garden Club, the organizer of Art & The Bloom, is federated through the National Garden Club and Garden Clubs of North Carolina. The event’s proceeds will benefit gardening projects for nonprofit organizations. All activities will be held at host hotel Blockade Runner Beach Resort.
