On his way to a Democratic party fundraiser on Monday night, President Obama stopped at Washington’s Friendship Park and tossed a baseball with Little Leaguers warming up for their evening games. The president met with four Little League teams and posed for pictures with the youngsters.
Florida International University’s 12-fan “Wall of Wind” hurricane simulator is on display at the National Building Museum in Washington. The “Designing for Disasters” exhibit explores new solutions and historical responses to natural hazards including earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, storm surge, flooding, tsunamis and wildfires.
According to a worker at the scene the spill is related to an overflow originating from Montgomery County that exceeded the system capacity for this part of D.C..
Notice that “unknown” has been hand written over the quantity of sewage that was estimated from the last spill – 5 million gallons. The Fletcher Boathouse is closed.
